Mary, good job on the new cd. I love it and so does my 8 year old. Some advice: You seem to be so nervous in your interviews recently and it shows. I can see you are still struggling with your confidence but you have come a long way. In most of the interviews I've seen, you are constantly being questioned about how have you changed? To me, you never respond to that question directly. Mary you have changed, you were born to change, nothing remains the same, so why would you? It takes balls to change. Those who remain the same will never advance. So continue to be the change you want to see. I love you Girl, you have inspired me since 1992. Tell Kendu I said hello. I can't wait to meet you. Breakthrough
Mary, I just wanted to let you know, once again, just how powerful your message is in this new, reveling journey of yours. As I've written before, I'm in a stage of my life that is very trying and stressful. It's been wearing to the point of wanting to give up, but I won't. I can't. I have too much to live for and most of all I have to live for me. When I'm to the point of suicide, I listen to "Breakthrough" and go deep within myself and prayer and search for the peace that I know exist. I'm not always successful, but I have faith that it's still there and I just have to remain patient and continue taking the steps back to the person I know is me. God Bless you Mary. Disappointed over Elvis...
I was very disappointed to hear about your refusal to participate in an Elvis appreciation concert because "you (knew) that Elvis was a racist." How do you come to that conclusion, may I ask? The man who sang, "In the Ghetto" is a racist? When he called attention to the plight of the inner city well before many of his black contemporaries. And Graceland? Where is it built? Why, perhaps in the middle of a black community... I think you're being wholly unfair and highly inaccurate. See the following Elvis lyrics from "If I Can Dream": There must be lights burning brighter somewhere Got to be birds flying higher in a sky more blue If I can dream of a better land Where all my brothers walk hand in hand Tell me why, oh why, oh why cant my dream come true It really is time to quit playing the race card. It's time to integrate. And more than that, it's time to be fair to a man who fought for that integration. You need to read on the history of Elvis in Memphis and the effects Rock N' Roll had on breaking barriers. If you're referencing a "shine my shoes" line, do your research. Elvis never said that. Nor had he ever been to Boston or on the Edward Murrow show where that incident was said to have occurred.
not alone in cincinnati
Well I'm glad i'm not the only one in Cincinnati who wants to get Mary J's attention about how dissapointed we are. We all spend lots or our money to go to concerts and to look good at them. It may not be much to you, but it was also our time and our feelings that was casted aside becaue maybe you did not want to come see us while it was raining. I hope you have a free concert when you "come back".
Festival concert in Cincinnati Ohio
I live in Cincinnati Ohio and was one of thousands who were stood up Friday July 27th by MJB. At first, I thought well things do happen, but as time passed different things started coming out. The majority of your fans are probably just like me, meaning we have been following you since the beginning and are about your age. So for all the loyalty your fans have showed you I think that you owed us way more than that what seem to be bogus cell phone call. I guess many of us are confused if you were in New Jersey stuck at the airport, which was suppose to be your next stop after Cincy, how did you get there before you got to Cincy? The biggest thing that has been said is that you actually checked in Cincinnati on Thursday night and that you just didn’t want to perform in the rain or your staff informed you that the stands were not packed, which in actuality the stage was covered and everybody was waiting inside until it was time for you to come out. I really hope you didn’t get Hollywood on us about the rain, I mean even Prince performed in the rain and he is damn near 50 years old. MJB, I really believe that since the majority of your fans are in the same age bracket as you are that’s the only reason why a lot of violence did not break out. Had this happened 10 years ago it would have definitely been over, but just like you your fans have also grown. I must be honest after paying $361 for 4 tickets to see you, I had to pray out loud for a long time to keep my picture from being on the news that night. Whenever you have had a release date for any of your albums I have consistently been at the store when the doors opened @ 10am to make sure MJB sells are off the chain. I don’t have any kids but I work two jobs so that after all bills are paid I can still afford to do things like buy clubhouse tickets for $90 (times 4) to see my favorite female singer. It’s safe to say that nearly everyone in the clubhouse level felt the same because hardly anyone went outside to watch any of the other performers until it was MJB’s time to come out. I just think after buying every cd you ever released (the day it came out) buying tickets to see you perform and traveling to other cities and states, buying new outfits and getting cuts/hairdo’s and fresh manicures and pedicures for your concerts (you know how we do) to see you perform that you OWE us more than what we got that day. If I may leave you with this I would just like to give a small example of how you made your fans feel. My brother (who was part of my 4 person party at the concert) who is a grown man said he felt like he just watched someone run over his dog in the street. As far as myself, when I watched the R. Kelly tape years ago, I had never experienced how that made me feel before or since until Friday July 27th 2007.

Mary, girl, I have been your fan since I was a 16 year old little black girl growing up in the projects! I took my What's the 411 tape-yeah y'all the tape-with me to the University of Cincinnati dorms. Before you rode with Kendu you rode with me and thousands of other young women through domestic violence (My Life),it's so real for young ladies, even the ones in college, "Share My World" got my girls and I, to our first bachelor degrees, and "No More Drama" got me through my first Master's degree in education, and a guy who was too clueless to grow up and be a man. Now, I too have found REAL LOVE, with my husband, and his (now our) son. Some people don't get how deep you can love children that you don't give birth to, just as if you have-but I do. I've been side by side my man raising our boy for almost seven years. Right now my husband and I are looking forward to finding ways to finance college for our son, in four years. I am using "We Ride" (I See the Future)to hold my family down, for this leg of the journey. I work in a ministry that tries to enhance the father/daughter relationship. Your song entitled "the father in you" should be a message to us fathers with daughters. Hello Mary, You've come a long way and might I say that many do not make it out. God simply was not through with you and he had a purpose for your life. You too, must be the apple of His eye. Pure wisdom came out of you during your interview with Melissa Rivers when you said that you are trying to keep balanced as all of the fame, awards, etc. come your way. It is so easy to lose focus. The word of God says to be wise as a serpant and harmless as a dove because our adversary goes about as a roaring lion seeking whom he might devour. Lastly, I heard what you said on Oprah about what these last two albums spoke of concerning your life. Well, I believe I have a song for your next album. I wrote it about one year ago but little did I know that it might just be a song written for you only. I hope that this message finds you so that you can direct me as to the best place to send a copy of it. Ordinarily I would have never thought to present one of my songs to an artist. I retired from the music industry in 1997 as a singer/songwriter when I re-dedicated my life to the Lord and was unable to write anything for 10 years. This past year though, songs just began to pour out of me and I know that it is God. This is a gift from Him and I think He suppressed this gift in me for those many years to clean me up and deal with my heart. Mary, I could have gone through the same things that you did if I did not meet my husband and re-direct my focus. Due to the rejection in my life as a child, mental and physical abuse I ended up becoming way too vain once I took what I thought was control of my own life. But I must say that I am disappointed that you are coming to michigan (DTE music theatre) and your tickets are so expensive and your not offering lawn tickets for this outdoor venue. Mary, Your concert held in CT was one of the most inspirational, motivating venues that we have had in a long time. If you could have seen the men and women in the crowd singing and crying when you sang ONE. I was so glad to see such a classy sophisticated person doing the damn thing without your butt hanging out and rolling all around the stage!!! Only a real woman like yourself could do such a thing. I was in the front row and just amazed at the energy and work that you put into each and every show as if it was your first. I sat a few seats over from Flex Alexander (One on One) and I think his eyes were stuck on you....Shanice would have been mad as hell that night!! Just kidding, I know it was the respect and admiration that he had for you that he couldn't keep his eye's off of you. My family, friends and colleagues have sooo much respect for you and are only spoken of highly. I can't get what you said about "people hating your guts" because your doing well. As long as somebaody has something negative to say, they will have much conversation. I love you abd respect you please stay happy and blessed. My six year old daughter was crying because she couldn't go to the concert so she bargained with me and said that she would stop crying if I gave her a makeover to look like you!! All I Expected and More
I saw Mary at the Essence Festival in Houston 07/01 and her performance was amazing. I have been a fan for many years, but this was the first time I saw her live. I can not describe in words how moving her performance was. You can feel her every emotion with every word she sings. She speaks to me and situations that I am in and gives me hope. I love her and I think she is an angel. Anybody that critizes her is not LISTENING to what she is singing about. I can not wait to see her perform again, but this time I will be on the front row! I was thoroughly disappointed with Mary's performance in Atlanta last week. A group of friends and I purchased a table ($88 a ticket) and Mary performed for 44 minutes! I will never attend another Mary J. Blige concert! I was like having sex and not having an orgasm! Mary should have considered her fans and left the drama at home! We spent too much money to be shorted the way we were! 112 did a better job and they just opened!

Mohegan Concert
I just bought tickets for the concert. This will be my 3rd time seeing Mary in concert. This year is my 10th wedding anniversary and it is great to be able to see Mary live although the album does the job also. We are sharing our 10th anniversary and I am proud to share it with you. I hope to be able to meet you in person one day. I have every album you ever made and my family when they see you on TV no matter where they live NC, GA or VA they call and say Mary's on. I almost break my neck getting to the TV. My children who are 7 and 9 years old even call me when you are on. I wish you another 10 years. I was with them in Yonkers one day when your mother Cora called and somehow they didn't realize that she was still listening and my former friend Kelly Smith was making fun of how your mother always would get drunk and talk about how much she loves her some Big Bruce. My former friends name is Kelly Smith, she lived on Warburton way back when, and Bruce as you may already have guessed is Bruce Chambers. Kelly was diagnosed with AIDS in January of 2005 and was having unprotected sex with Kelly even though he was aware of her HIV status. Mary my life has turned into a living nightmare, I turned to drugs and alcohol to try to drown out the pain that he caused me, which was made even worse because Kelly chose to believe him when he said that I was crazy! And that it never happened, anyway i've since moved to Florida, got counseling and have tested negative and I am moving on with my life! I have a 17 yeaf old daughter, pulling A's and B's in her senior year and she deserves the best that I can give her, which is not much because I work at Walmart. I just want you to know that you are truly blessed and you are a big inspiration in my life! Kelly once told me that you used to sing so much in Schlobahm, people would tell you to shut up, makes me wonder what those same people are saying now! Fell In Love All Over Again ~ What's The 411
Keep on the journey. You've allowed for me to fall in love with you and your music all over again. You baptised my car. My car went through it during Wilma. I had to get a new radio and new speakers ~ the windows were busted out so it rained in the car. The radio prior had a tape deck and I kept tons of tapes in the car. I take cds seriously and they can tend to walk where as a tape can be replaced. I anticipated December 20, 2005. Your cd has been playing in my car since Tuesday and it will stay there for a minute. I'm feeling EVERY TRACK!!! Granted, my favorites are "Good Woman Down" as it reminds me of my track "Can't Keep A Good Woman Down" on my first cd A Poet's Pen, "Baggage" and "Father In You." I am a DC girl. I have loved Mary ever since "what's the 411?" I dont think there is any other R&B singer that can top the songs that Mary has done, or any of the records that she has put out.
