The historic performance will mark the 40th anniversary of the original hit receiving the Grammys for Record of the Year and Song of the Year. Matriarch Entertainment and Geffen Records are proud to announce the release of Stronger withEach Tear, MUSIC GIANT MARY J. BLIGE’s ninth studio album on Monday, December 21st. The first single from the album is titled “I Am” and was produced by Stargate while the video for the song was directed by famed lensman, Anthony Mandler.

Stronger withEach Tear represents knowing that the work we do on ourselves is never done, but we do get stronger through the trials, the tribulations, and the tears. Lending a hand of expression to MARY’S work are some of the best producers and artists in the business. They include: Rodney Jerkins who produced the first song to be heard from the album, the single, “The One,” featuring newcomer Drake. In America, tens of thousands of young, vulnerable girls are being sold for sex, lured and into prostitution and then terrorized by the pimps who prey on them. Now, the reigning queen of surviving pain, Mary J. Blige, has joined forces for renowned singer-song writer Sinead O'Conner to help bring awareness to the issue. The powerful duo has recording a remake of O'Connor's 1996 song, 'This is To Mother You,' which was released yesterday, The International Day to Abolish Slavery.

"When I read the lyrics to 'This is to Mother You' I really fell in love with the song," says Blige, who, like most Americans, was unaware of the prevalence of child sex trafficking in this country until her introduction to GEMS. "It describes how I feel about my work and how so many fans view me--as a mentor and a mother figure. It has always been my dream to be able to encourage women and let them know that if I can make it they can make it too, despite any physical and emotional abuses they may endure."

MARY J. BLIGE’S “I CAN SEE COLOR” IS FIRST SINGLE TO BE RELEASED

Matriarch/Geffen Records in association with Lee Daniels Entertainment, Smokewood Entertainment, Lionsgate, Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry will release the soundtrack to the fall season’s must-see film, the prize-winning drama “Precious: Based On The Novel By Sapphire.” The soundtrack is Executive Produced by Lee Daniels and Mary J. Blige and will be available online on November 3, 2009 and in stores on November 23, 2009. “Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ By Sapphire” premiered at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Grand Jury Prize, Audience Award and a Special Jury Prize for Acting; it has since screened at such prestigious venues as the Cannes International Film Festival, the New York Film Festival and the Toronto International Film Festival, where it won the People’s Choice Award; it is slated to open in select theatres on November 6, 2009.

The musical companion features tracks from voices that are some of the most gifted and admired artists in music history. Lee Daniels states, “Precious’s story is about learning to love yourself, and that is a universal story. What better may to express such a powerful message than with the music from artists such as Mary. J.
